Woods Lake and its startling beauty, even when at its peak usage during summer months, solitude is very easy to find. It's at about 8,000 feet, can hike up to 10,000 feet on a medium strenuous hike to Winnamucca Lake and the Mokelumne Wilderness with views of Round Top.
